O t\u00edtulo deste post<\/em> \u00e9 uma par\u00e1frase da frase de Simone de Beauvoir que tornou-se popular no ano passado por\u00a0ter sido objeto de uma quest\u00e3o do ENEM. A inspira\u00e7\u00e3o para o texto, no entanto, veio do artigo “The Philosophy of Language and Knowledge\u00a0Organization in the 1930s: Pragmatics of Wittgenstein\u00a0and Ranganathan”, de Gustavo Silva Saldanha, pesquisador do IBICT e professor da UNIRIO.<\/p>\n

Especialmente o t\u00f3pico “5.0 The books are not for use; the books are the use itself: Ranganathan and Wittgenstein, language
\nand knowledge in 1930s” chamou a aten\u00e7\u00e3o pelo fato de levantar um conceito interessante relacionado com a Segunda Lei de Ranganathan, que at\u00e9 ent\u00e3o desconhecia: digvijaya<\/em>. A Segunda Lei, “Para cada leitor seu livro” (ou qualquer outra varia\u00e7\u00e3o similar que seja detectada em outros escritos), \u00e9 apresentada por Ranganathan como uma esp\u00e9cie de advocacy<\/em>\u00a0proposta\u00a0nos dias atuais. Ela tamb\u00e9m traz consigo a no\u00e7\u00e3o de uso<\/em>. Sob o ponto de vista do bibliotec\u00e1rio indiano, essa no\u00e7\u00e3o est\u00e1 fortemente relacionada \u00e0 Primeira Lei “Os livros s\u00e3o escritos para serem lidos”, pois considera que o conte\u00fado de um livro s\u00f3 pode ser explorado e seus significados s\u00e3o elaborados a partir do momento em que \u00e9 usado<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Por isso, essa ideia do Ranganathan inspirou o t\u00edtulo deste pequeno texto. \u00c9 interessante pensar em dois aspectos:<\/p>\n

1) a defesa pelas bibliotecas \u00e9 muito mais antiga do que sup\u00f5e o conceito de advocacy<\/em>. J\u00e1 vem desde os tempos de Ranganathan que revolucionou o pensamento bibliotecon\u00f4mico ao propor suas cinco leis<\/a>:<\/p>\n

  1. Os livros s\u00e3o escritos para serem lidos<\/li>\n
  2. Todo leitor tem seu livro<\/li>\n
  3. Todo livro tem seu leitor<\/li>\n
  4. Poupe o tempo do leitor<\/li>\n
  5. Uma biblioteca \u00e9 um organismo em crescimento<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    2) o\u00a0encontro da informa\u00e7\u00e3o com seu leitor realmente \u00e9 interessante, pois \u00e9 quando\u00a0h\u00e1 um (re)processamento, uma (re)significa\u00e7\u00e3o do conte\u00fado pelo leitor, de forma que novas informa\u00e7\u00f5es sejam criadas a partir das experi\u00eancias pr\u00e9vias do leitor, alimentando, assim,\u00a0o ciclo da informa\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n
