Yet often it is the individual&#8217;s definition of the situation that shapes his or her needs as much as the &#8220;real&#8221; situation itself. If individuals perceive a lack of predictability and control of an outcome, then they worry. The worry itself becomes a need.<\/p>\n<p>O mito 9\u00a0se refere ao tempo e ao espa\u00e7o. Essas vari\u00e1veis devem ser lembradas no momento de busca de informa\u00e7\u00e3o, pois s\u00e3o determinantes para saber se os resultados encontrados s\u00e3o compat\u00edveis com a necessidade que motivou a busca. Como o texto apresenta, \u00e9 a situa\u00e7\u00e3o individual do usu\u00e1rio que molda suas necessidades e o faz com que busque respostas.<\/p>\n<p>Qualquer que seja a motiva\u00e7\u00e3o que desperte uma necessidade informacional, ela acontece num determinado tempo e espa\u00e7o, lembrando que esses fatores tamb\u00e9m imp\u00f5em limites \u00e0s ferramentas dispon\u00edveis para a pesquisa de informa\u00e7\u00e3o. Por exemplo, um motorista que teve um problema no carro e n\u00e3o possui seguro precisa entrar em contato com a concession\u00e1ria da rodovia para resolv\u00ea-lo. Dependo do <em>espa\u00e7o<\/em>, talvez n\u00e3o tenha uma cobertura 3G razo\u00e1vel para ele procurar pelo telefone da concession\u00e1ria via Internet no seu <em>smartphone<\/em>, e se ele estiver no fim da tarde e n\u00e3o dirige a noite (<em>tempo<\/em>), seu problema toma outra dimens\u00e3o e sua necessidade torna-se mais urgente.<\/p>\n<p>Como o pr\u00f3prio texto tamb\u00e9m exp\u00f5e, a falta de previsibilidade e controle de um resultado pode ser motivo de preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o, conforme ilustrado pelo\u00a0exemplo acima, e ela acaba tornando-se a pr\u00f3pria necessidade, pois passa a ser a motiva\u00e7\u00e3o que desperta a busca por informa\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>9.\u00a0Time and space &#8211; individual situations &#8211; can be ignored in addressing information seeking and use.
